
Vice President of Research
The Cancer Prevention Institute, an independent non-profit cancer prevention institute in Dayton, Ohio, offers a unique opportunity for a senior cancer prevention researcher/epidemiologist to further develop the cancer prevention research programs of an exciting, growing, forward-looking organization.
This is a senior position responsible for the direction of the Cancer Prevention Institutes scientific program. The incumbent reports directly to the President and CEO of the Cancer Prevention Institute. The position is comparable to a fully tenured professor in an academic setting. Successful candidates should have a proven ability to successfully compete for peer-reviewed grants, an outstanding record of peer-reviewed publications and excellent interpersonal skills.
Located in a mid-sized Midwestern city close to both Cincinnati and Columbus, the Cancer Prevention Institute combines cancer prevention/epidemiologic research with community outreach programs in cancer education/prevention and population-based cancer screening programs. Research programs are focused on cancer etiology, (chemo)prevention, and improved cancer screening approaches.
The Cancer Prevention Institute is affiliated with Wright State University School of Medicine (WSUSOM) in Dayton, OH, and the Vice President of Research is expected to receive an adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Community Health at WSUSOM.
